The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a practical and skilled individual to provide support to Fleet Facilities by carrying out fabrication and maintenance operations to BVSC infrastructure, plant, vehicles and equipment, including RFS fleet.
As a Boilermaker/Fabricator, you will perform welding and mechanical maintenance on major and minor plant and equipment, and design, fabricate and modify metal fittings and plant components. You will assess plant faults to determine repair requirements and carry out welding repairs on Council assets including bridges, handrails and sewerage infrastructure.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (or equivalent) and 5 years' relevant work experience with 2 years' recent experience in the fabrication industry.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Sound understanding of the operation of heavy vehicles and major plant items.
- Well-developed skills in the interpretation of engineering plans and drawings, training manuals, technical journals, manufacturers’ specifications.
- Proficient skills in the design of metal fittings to broad specifications.
- Well-developed communication skills regarding technical drawings and plans with appropriate stakeholders.
Benefits
This is a permanent, full time position working 38 hours per week. This position may also require after hours work when necessary.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $79,969.34 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,373.10 per week base salary
- $164.77 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
