The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an analytical individual to support the development, implementation and review of strategic land use strategies and planning instruments to deliver effective urban and rural planning in the Bega Valley Shire.
As a Strategic Planning Project Officer, you will formulate innovative and practicalstrategic planning policiesthat respond to identified local needs and support the development and review ofland use strategiesand planning instruments in line with Council’s strategic direction. You will communicate and liaise with keystakeholdersto maximise outcomes and preparereports and advicerelating to planning proposal.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a degree qualification in land use planning, urban planning or related discipline and has 3 – 5 years recent related work experience (indicative).
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant environmental planning legislation, including (but not limited to):Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979; State Environmental Planning Policies; Local Environmental Plans; Circulars from Planning NSW; local government policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in policy formulation and implementation.
- High level analytical and investigative skills including demographic, socio-economic and land use supply and demand.
- Communication skills necessary for stakeholder engagement, negotiation and mediation.
Benefits
This is a permanent, part time position working 21 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $105,041.66 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,803.60 per week base salary
- $216.43 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
