About The Role..
Are you passionate about helping people achieve their recovery goals? We’re seeking a highly motivated
Physiotherapy Assistant (AHA) to join our dynamic inpatient team, supporting adults on their rehabilitation journey following spinal cord injury.
In this role, you’ll work closely with clients, their families, community services, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver goal-focused rehabilitation programs. You’ll gain hands-on experience contributing to both individual and group interventions across a variety of service models.
Working alongside our skilled Physiotherapists, you’ll have the opportunity to support clients under direct supervision or independently with indirect supervision, making a real difference in their progress while growing your skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Please note: This is a full-time role and will not suit students who are currently enrolled in a university course.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Assisting Physiotherapists with transferring, standing and walking clients.
- Assisting clients with individual and group exercise programs including hydrotherapy.
- Carrying out basic mechanical adjustments to wheelchairs.
- Cleaning, tidying and administrative duties.
About You..
We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:
Essential Criteria
- Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent).
- Experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting including hydrotherapy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstration of effective teamwork.
- Excellent time management and self-organisational skills.
- Ability to swim confidently.
- Ability to make basic alterations to wheelchairs.
- Computer skills including word, excel and e-mail.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with people with spinal cord injuries.
