About the Opportunity
Georges River Council is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our City Technical Services team and play a key role in improving public infrastructure across the Georges River Local Government Area.
Working within a multidisciplinary team of design and project engineers, you will be responsible for the investigation and design of a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, traffic facilities, footpaths, public domain improvements and other community assets. From concept development through to detailed design and construction support, you will contribute to projects that directly improve the safety, accessibility and liveability of our community.
City Technical Services is responsible for the design and delivery of Council's Capital Works Program, working collaboratively across the organisation to develop practical, innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. The team delivers projects ranging from local asset renewals through to complex infrastructure upgrades, providing an opportunity to work on a varied and rewarding portfolio of projects.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical design expertise with real-world project outcomes and problem solving. You will have the opportunity to work closely with project managers, asset engineers, surveyors, contractors, and utility authorities, while helping deliver infrastructure that leaves a lasting impact across the Georges River area.
What We Offer
- Permanent, Full-Time – 70 hours per fortnight
- Salary from $97,810.85 - $113,326.49 per annum plus 12% superannuation
- 3.5% civil liability allowance

What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in infrastructure design including design of road assets, traffic facilities, drainage, and other civil works
- A high level of computer literacy with sound working knowledge of design software packages such as AutoCAD and Civil Site Design
- Experience in the reviewing of plans submitted as part of Development Applications and Section 138 applications
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering surveying principles and practices, including a basic working knowledge of common survey equipment and survey data used in the planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects
- Understanding of and commitment to WHS practices and EEO principles
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
