Final Trim Grader Operator (Ref: 1309)
About the position:
The Final Trim Grader Operator undertakes operational activities associated with the provision of road construction and maintenance services to the City of Greater Geraldton rural roads network. Working under general direction to ensure all work is carried out within agreed programs and budget constraints and complies with all relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards. This position provides daily guidance to other members of the Rural Roads team onsite as required by the Line Manager.
This role is offered on a 9-day fortnight, giving you every second Friday off to recharge, plan adventures, or enjoy more time doing what matters to you.
Key accountabilities:
- Operate grader at a high level of accuracy in civil construction environment, including undertaking final trim grading to agreed design levels and tolerances with a high degree of precision.
- Lead the City’s rural road maintenance teams to ensure that works are completed to the required standard in a timely manner.
- Set out renewal works to City standards or plans as required.
- Provide assistance to Line Supervisor to ensure works are conducted to industry and City standards.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will ideally have significant demonstrated experience as a construction and final trim grader operator in a civil construction environment, however, applicants with lesser experience but formally recognised qualification are encouraged to apply. Sound experience in civil asset maintenance such as roads, bridges and stormwater infrastructure is essential.
The role also requires experience supervising a small team on site including the overseeing of roller and side tipper operations.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary ranging from $89,127 per annum to $100,195 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
