We are looking for a motivated and community-focused Public Health Promotion Officer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the Shire's Public Health Plan and deliver innovative health promotion initiatives that improve the wellbeing of our residents.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:
- Implement actions and initiatives identified within the Shire's Public Health Plan and Local Food Action Plan.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver health promotion programs, workshops, events and educational activities across the community.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with businesses, community groups, government agencies and other stakeholders to support health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Research and apply for grant funding opportunities to support new health initiatives.
- Integrate health promotion activities into community events and engagement opportunities.
- Assist with researching and developing policies, processes and procedures that support improved public health outcomes.
- Provide reports and updates on public health activities and project outcomes.
- Support Environmental Health functions including routine water sampling, service requests and health-related investigations as required.
Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
- Experience managing and delivering multiple projects, programs or initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
- Sound computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Current "C" Class Driver's Licence.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Public Health, Health Promotion or a related discipline (or progressing towards completion) will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience delivering public health promotion, community wellbeing or health-related projects is desirable.

We will negotiate a great salary of up to $87,524.00 per annum based on the experience, skills and the qualifications you bring to the role.
