ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are looking for an enthusiastic, safety conscious and highly experienced mechanical fitter to join our Water and Wastewater team. Reporting to the Supervisor Water and Wastewater Mechanical Services, this position plays a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of Council’s water and wastewater infrastructure. The role provides advanced mechanical trade expertise to inspect, maintain, repair and improve treatment plant equipment, mechanical assets, and associated plant and machinery critical to service delivery.
A key responsibility of the position will be to support team capability through the supervision, mentoring and training of staff and apprentices, while delivering high-quality customer service and professional technical advice.

- Relevant Trade Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining).
- Demonstrated high level experience in the maintenance and repair of a variety of plant and machinery.
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems and pumps.
- Proven knowledge of plant operation capabilities and associated maintenance and repair requirements.
- Willingness and ability to work on call in accordance with roster requirements.

- An annual salary range of $78,300 to $89,900 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
