As an Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III) at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care for children in our early childhood services. You'll work collaboratively with a team of expert educators to implement innovative curricula aligned with national frameworks. Your responsibilities will include:
Curriculum Implementation: Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality educational programs aligned with national frameworks and centre philosophies.
Child Development Support: Engage children in meaningful learning opportunities, promoting their agency and responding to individual needs and interests.
Documentation and Planning: Contribute to the documentation of children's learning and participate in the planning cycle under expert guidance.
Family and Colleague Engagement: Build positive relationships with families and colleagues, sharing information about children's daily activities and progress.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a passionate early childhood educator with a Certificate III qualification, committed to creating safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments for young children while working collaboratively within a team of education professionals.
You may also have:
Hold an approved early childhood educator (Certificate III) qualification recognised by ACECQA.
Have experience working in an approved education and care service.
Possess a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012).
Have completed Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting and food safety training.
Demonstrate knowledge of relevant early childhood frameworks and regulations.
Show strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Be physically capable of engaging actively with children aged 0-5 years.
Have experience or interest in contributing to early childhood research (desirable).

Your new team – Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
Early Childhood Education Services is located within Student and Scholarly Services at The University of Melbourne, comprising the Early Learning Centre, Abbotsford (90 places daily), Queensberry Children’s Centre (96 places daily) and Swanston Street Children’s Centres (41 places daily). These centres provide early childhood education for approximately 350 children aged 6 months to five years from the University and the surrounding community. The centres operate for a minimum of 48 weeks per year and are open for 10 hours per day. The early childhood education staff team is comprised of approximately 60 staff working either full-time or part-time across the three centres.
