You’ll also help shape the strategic direction of the Protective Security function by embedding risk-based insights and aligning investigation outcomes with Toll’s broader security posture, including compliance with DISP, SOCI, and PSPF frameworks.
This role may suit individuals with prior experience in law enforcement (e.g., detectives) or military policing, particularly those with a strong understanding of whistle-blower legislation, regulatory compliance, and case management systems (e.g., NAVEX). Candidates should possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence, engage stakeholders, and simplify technical information for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and enhance investigation processes, templates, protocols, and case management using platforms such as Navex.
Collaborate with Legal, HR, IT Security, and Compliance to ensure consistent and coordinated investigation outcomes.
Provide expert guidance on complex or sensitive investigations, including those at the business unit or site level.
Identify trends and systemic risks from investigations to inform enterprise-wide mitigation strategies.
Support the delivery of the Protective Security Strategy and alignment with risk management frameworks and regulatory obligations (DISP, SOCI, PSPF).
Participate in governance forums and contribute to converged security planning, integrating physical, personnel, and cyber insights.
Deliver training, build investigation capability across the organisation, and travel nationally/internationally at short notice as required.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in investigations, law enforcement, security management, law, or a related discipline.
Extensive experience managing investigations in a complex, multi-site or global organisation.
Strong commercial and political acumen, with an understanding of how financial and operational drivers affect security outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities independently and produce high-quality, timely results with minimal oversight.
Skilled in documentation, business case development, and aligning local approaches with global security strategies.
High personal integrity, sound judgment, discretion, and alignment with Toll’s values and ethical standards.
