About the
role
The Drainage Maintenance
Technician will be responsible for maintaining Councils underground drainage
network. This work will include but not be limited to, jetting of the
underground drainage network using Councils specialised equipment, repairing
sections of Council’s drainage network, replacement of pit lids and surrounds
and the operation of Councils CCTV units to inspect and investigate the
underground drainage network. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, driven
and engage in effective interaction and communication with various levels
within Council and external to Council. The successful candidate will be
involved in a variety of drainage projects. The successful candidate will also
have solid time management and organisational skills.
Skills and
experience
- Operation and maintenance of specialised drainage plant and
equipment to clean and maintain underground drains, pits and easements.
- Repair and replacement of sections of the Councils underground drainage
network as required.
- Confined Space Accreditation.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from members of the
public and other employees in the delivery of assigned tasks.
- Thorough knowledge of the associated technology and maintenance
operations, practices and procedures relating to underground maintenance, pipe
repair and construction.
- Medium Rigid truck licence.
- Ability to read drainage plans and diagrams.
