About the Role
Carry out minor investigations and assist with all types of maintenance work requests on Council buildings including, but not limited to: locksmith works, tiling, painting, cleaning, plastering, timber framing and other minor building maintenance tasks as directed.
Additionally carry out and assist with maintenance works on furniture and facilities, including carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, painting, glazing, plastering, demolition and other tasks directed by the supervisor.
Skills and Experience
- Proficient and knowledgeable with general construction practices, including safety requirements on the work site
- Able to draw on technical knowledge to solve work site problems as part of a working team
- Aptitude in safe storage and handling of materials, tools and equipment
- Conducting building maintenance inspections and reports via various user-friendly reporting platforms
- Ensure all works are carried out to agreed standards and in accordance with the Council’s expectations
- Construction white card, working at heights
- Current driver’s licence
- Current Working with Children Check
