About the roleWe are seeking an experienced People and Culture Business Partner to join our collaborative and supportive team where you will be challenged and rewarded as we continue to implement the City of Sydney's new People Strategy.
This unique and exciting role carries a heightened focus on conducting and coordinating case management across the People and Culture Business Partner team, while managing a smaller client portfolio with full partnering scope. It also offers hands-on involvement in shaping forward-looking People and Culture projects.
The People Strategy 2022 – 2026 has 3 core objectives:

The People and Culture Business Partners play a key role, acting as the subject matter expert for the business units they support for strategic initiatives and cyclical people related activities. The role of the People and Culture Business Partner advises on people practices, policies and procedures and partner with their business units to drive compliance, performance and employee engagement.
Key accountabilities:
carry a heighted focus on conducting case management across the wider People and Culture Business Partner team, while continuing to manage a smaller client portfolio with full partnering scopeacting as the subject matter expert for their business units to provide advice and guidance and work on strategic initiatives with the other teams within the division including; Recruitment, Learning and Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Workplace Health and Safety, Workers Compensation, HR Systems and Payroll Servicesmanaging employee and industrial relations matters within business units driving outcomes and mitigating riskmanage and contribute to change management initiativesapply knowledge and expertise to create and implement cultural initiatives to help embed our values in everything we do.
We're looking for someone with:
demonstrated capability in conducting, coordinating and reporting on complex case management matters, ideally using digital case-tracking systems and analytics, in a unionised or industrial environmentproven demonstrated experience conducting workplace mediation and or facilitation will be highly regardedtertiary qualifications at degree or diploma level majoring in human resources management or equivalent and/or experience in a similar roleproven experience in providing a range of Human Resources generalist advice in large or complex organisationsdemonstrated record of adopting a consultative approach in the delivery of human resources services to managers and employees.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
