HR People & Culture Manager (10-11 Months FTC), for Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) – Sydney CBD

An exciting opportunity has arisen for one of our valued clients for an experienced People & Culture Manager (HR Manager) on a parental leave contract.
Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) is an industry-owned, industry-led Jobs & Skills Council (JSC), funded by the Department of Employment & Workplace Relations (DEWR). We offer workforce planning, guidance and advocacy for the following industries: Arts, Personal Services, Retail, Tourism, and Hospitality.
Working within a tripartite approach, SaCSA is the critical link between industry stakeholders, government and unions. We aim to provide a stronger, more strategic voice in ensuring Australia’s Vocational Education and Training sector delivers stronger outcomes for employers, workers, learners, trainers and educators.
As the leader in workforce development initiatives for our industries, SaCSA collaborates with industry to identify and articulate current and future employment trends and develops solutions that best serve those needs.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead the end-to-end people function, providing strategic and operational HR support across the business. Based in Sydney's CBD, this role offers flexibility, autonomy and the chance to make a meaningful impact.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be the trusted People & Culture lead, providing guidance and support across all areas of HR, including:
- Employee relations, HR advice and workplace matters
- Recruitment and workforce planning
- Onboarding and offboarding
- Learning and development initiatives
- Performance management and annual review processes
- HR compliance, policies and procedures
- Workplace culture and employee engagement programs
- HRIS management (Employment Hero preferred)
- Leadership coaching and support across the organisation
- You will also lead and support a direct report while partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure people strategies align with organisational objectives.
About You
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Proven experience in a senior HR or People & Culture generalist role
- Not For Profit or purpose-driven organisation experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks
- Experience partnering with leaders and providing practical, solutions-focused advice
- A passion for building positive workplace culture and employee engagement
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using HRIS platforms, ideally Employment Hero
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline will be highly regarded

- Open to both full-time (1.0 FTE) and part-time (0.8 FTE) arrangements for the Fixed Term period of employment
