The role
Are you passionate about creating impactful learning experiences that inspire growth and capability? CBCity is seeking a Learning Experience Designer to shape the future of learning across our organisation.
In this exciting role, you’ll combine innovative design principles with evidence-based learning theories to design, develop and deliver engaging, learner-centred experiences. You’ll take the lead in crafting blended learning solutions that align with the 70/20/10 model and drive our organisational goals.
Collaborating closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, you’ll design learning experiences that build workforce capability at every level, helping our people thrive and succeed.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to make a real impact within a forward-thinking Council that values creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Design and deliver learner-centred solutions aligned with adult learning principles, including curriculum, materials, and assessments.
- Lead end-to-end L&D projects, from needs analysis to implementation and evaluation.
- Use data and insights to tailor learning content to audience needs.
- Develop engaging digital learning using tools like Articulate 360.
- Collaborate with SMEs, managers and L&D teams to design solutions that support organisational goals.
- Provide expert advice on instructional design and effective delivery methods.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with best practice, policy, and legislation.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and impact.
- Work closely with People & Performance on capability and development initiatives.

You will have
- Tertiary qualification in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience in instructional design, content development, and training delivery, with the ability to create engaging, learner-focused programs.
- Skilled in simplifying complex concepts into clear, practical, and blended learning solutions.
- Proficient in eLearning development, including the use of digital learning platforms and design software.
- Extensive experience facilitating adult learning across a range of audiences and environments.
The salary for this position is $104,465 (Grade H, Step 1) + 12% super.
