The role
Our Culture & Change Team has an exciting opportunity as an Organisational Development (OD Specialist). Your role is to empower our people to achieve our desired workplace culture through key people strategies, programs and initiatives that embed Council's Purpose of "Together we create a great city we love" to achieve our Ambition where "Our community that loves their community".
In this strategic role, you will do this through engagement, consultation and collaboration with leaders and team members across the organisation to build our culture, drive employee engagement and deliver people strategies and change solutions to help us achieve our strategic outcomes.
This is a temporary role until March 2027.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Partner with stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement strategies and programs that enhance organisational performance and optimise people and culture outcomes.
• Lead the design and delivery of organisation wide initiatives, including culture and engagement programs, staff events, and leadership forums.
• Develop and implement key deliverables and projects aligned with Council’s People (Workforce) Strategy and the Unit’s strategic plan.
• Provide coaching and best practice guidance to stakeholders on change management and cultural transformation.
• Lead organisational wide culture survey initiatives and the reward and recognition program.
• Undertake special projects or additional duties as required, aligned with the employee’s skills, capabilities, and training.

You will have
• Tertiary qualifications in Organisational Development, Culture, HR or related field and/or relevant experience in culture, engagement, or change programs.
• Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience facilitating workshops and strategic planning sessions.
• Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
• Ability to influence and work across all levels of the organisation.
• C Class Driver’s Licence.
Desirable: Experience in the public sector and a diploma or higher in business, change management, psychology, or HR.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $104,465.69 (Grade H, Step 1) plus 12% super.
