About the Role
The MRF Operator supports the safe and efficient operation of Shoalhaven City Council's Materials Recovery Facility. Working as part of a team, the role involves operating and maintaining fixed and mobile equipment to process recyclable materials. Ensuring WHS and environmental standards are met. This includes:
- Operate a variety of plant and equipment within the facility, including Recycling Plant & Equipment, Materials Handler, Balers, Forklifts, Loaders
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks and maintenance on plant and trucks (oil/water/tyre/grease/fuel/clean etc.) to maintain smooth operations.
- Participate in morning and afternoon briefs, identifying any safety related issues or operational improvements that can be implemented.
- Work within a team to operate and maintain both fixed and mobile plant equipment to ensure the smooth processing of recyclable materials.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or extensive verified experience operating mechanical equipment in a waste, recycling, quarrying, construction, or civil environment.
- Experience operating mobile equipment such as wheeled loaders, forklifts, material handlers and balers.
- Current Class HR Driver's Licence
- Current NSW General Construction induction card (white card).
We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused team player with experience in operating machinery or plant equipment. Someone who works well with others, takes initiative, and is committed to maintaining high WHS and environmental standards.
