We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Service Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging programs for youth through work at the Tamworth Regional Youth Centre and the outlying community outreach centres. Council has a number of great initiatives that the right candidate would assist to deliver such as the Youth Council as well as supporting the implementation of our newly adopted Youth Strategy.
The Youth Services Assistant is responsible for:
- Developing, delivering and supervising a range of youth programs in the Tamworth Regional Youth Centre and assist with youth outreach programs in the council area.
- Supporting young people to engage in youth programs delivered by relevant agencies and organisations.
- Supporting the Coordinator in the day to day operations of The Youthie
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Certificate IV in Community Services (Youth Work and/or Community Services Work) or relevant expereince
- First Aid Certificate
- Drivers Licence
- NSW Working With Children Check Clearance (WWCC)
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for demonstrated capability, typically 1 to 5 years’ experience working effectively with others including young people, families, organisations, volunteers, community groups and government agencies.
You will be responsible for delivering a service to customers including youth programs and community information. Creating and implementing targeted youth programs that meet the educational needs of young people.

Salary Range: Grade 9 - $44.40 - $48.05 per hour plus superannuation. Pay rate may be negotiated based on skills and experience.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Screening including Alcohol & Other Drugs Testing.
