About the role
Permanent opportunity for a suitably experienced and motivated individual to join the City Performance and lead the Risk Management, Claims & Insurance Team in the delivery of organisational resilience framework, risk management activities to minimise exposure to a broad range of risks in line with legislative requirements.
The role is responsible to coordinate risk identification, reporting and management activities across Council that promote business excellence, embed Risk Management into the day-to-day operations at Council and act as the subject matter expert on matters including but not limited to Council’s Risk Management, Business Continuity, Fraud & Corruption, and coordinate insurance and claims management.
You can also expect to:
- Incorporate a ‘whole of business’ view focused on risks and opportunities to continuously improve Council’s organisational resilience framework, and risk management activities.
- Review, develop and/or maintain relevant policies and strategies to support the enterprise risk management framework and link to other key Council policies and frameworks.
- Facilitate and coordinate the identification of risks and opportunities and support ‘risk owners’ to assess and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Manage Council’s insurances and insurance claims portfolio
- Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
- Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.
About you
We are looking for a someone who demonstrates:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or knowledge and experience in a relevant field.
- Significant experience in enterprise risk management.
- Proven experience in developing, maintaining, or implementing business continuity strategies and solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate/influence at all levels.
- Current Driver’s Licence Class C.

Salary: $119,426.18 - $133,757.40 pa + 12% superannuation
