Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a dedicatedAnimal Shelter Administration Officerto provide essential administrative support to our Council Animal Shelter. This role ensures smooth daily operations, accurate record-keeping, and excellent customer service while contributing to the welfare of animals and the satisfaction of our community.
About the Role
As the Animal Shelter Administration Officer, you will:
- Maintain accurate records on animal health, wellbeing, and behaviour.
- Coordinate registrations, adoptions, and other shelter activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for telephone and in-person enquiries, delivering professional and courteous customer service.
- Support administrative processes such as event coordination, procurement, and shelter reporting.
- Collaborate with the Animal Shelter team to ensure effective, safe, and efficient shelter operations.
What We’re Looking For
You will have:
- NSW Class C Driver’s Licence and a Working With Children Check.
- Qualification in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in data entry, administrative systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team, manage competing priorities, and demonstrate initiative.

- Package:$69,785 - $73,858 gross p.a. (full time equivalent) plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work:Part Time working 17.5 hours per week. across a 7 day spread (including public holidays).Work hours span 5.00am - 10:00pm to support the operational needs of the Animal Shelter.
