About the role:
This role has two key focus areas, both aimed at delivering positive commercial and community outcomes for Council through a strategic approach to developer contributions and the development of key strategic property assets.
You will lead the negotiation and administration of Voluntary Planning Agreements, support the delivery of Council’s VPA policy, and ensure compliance with legislative and strategic requirements. You will also oversee the progression of key strategic property projects, coordinating delivery pathways, approvals, stakeholder and community engagement, and providing regular updates to the Executive, Mayor and Councillors.
About you
We are seeking an experienced commercially astute professional with strong experience in negotiating Voluntary Planning Agreements and a solid understanding of development contributions and the NSW planning framework. You bring experience in commercial property development, excel in stakeholder management and communication, and have a proven ability to manage projects in a local government environment.
Essential Criteria
- High level of understanding of legislative framework applicable to development contributions and VPAs
- Significant experience in negotiating and developing VPAs
- Experience in commercial property development
- Understanding of the strategic planning and development environment in NSW
- Highly developed skills in stakeholder management
- Experience in managing complex projects in a Local Government context.
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Criteria
- Understanding of the Edgecliff, Double Bay and Rose Bay commercial environments.
