About the role
The role of Arborist –
Tree Officer is to manage urban trees for public safety, environmental
benefits, and community satisfaction by assessing health, enforcing policies,
processing permits for removal/pruning, advising on tree care, managing
tree-related development applications, and promoting the value of trees in
urban settings within the Lane Cove Local Government Area.
You will have the opportunity to
work collaboratively with a driven and passionate team focused on implementing contemporary
and sustainable tree management services. Responsibilities include facilitating
Council’s annual street tree replenishment planting, reviewing
applications for pruning or removal of trees located on private property, workingin tandem[MT1]with
Council’s other Arborist –Tree Officer with
processing private tree applications and the Principal Arborist in providing
advice for development applications, and providing technical expertise to
assist in undertaking regular and programmed inspections, investigating
compliance and responding to community queries on tree related matters.
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary
qualifications in arboriculture AQF5.
- Sound
knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, in particular, Pruning of
Amenity Trees and Protection of Trees on Development Sites;
- Demonstrated
comprehensive understanding and experience in tree hazard and health
assessment;
- Current
C Class Driver's Licence.

Salary range:
From $1499 per week (+ super) to
$2007 per week (+ super, + market premium allowance).
