We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Team Leader for our Parks and Environment Team. This role will undertake field leadership of all irrigation operations within the Shire town sites and surrounds.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:
- Supervision of irrigation officers and contractors in the day-to-day irrigation maintenance of parks, reserves and open space in the Shire of Serpentine/Jarrahdale.
- Hands on diagnostic/trouble shooting.
- Continual improvement to works systems and processes through auditing and inspections.
- Provide feedback on work performance, and ensure regular communication and guidance is provided to staff members.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of works.
- Proactively promote safety by identifying and managing risks either by adopting safe working practices, undertaking preventative maintenance or reporting risks and issues to the appropriate person.
Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence (applicable to Western Australia)
- Extensive experience in installing and maintaining large scale reticulation systems
- White Card.
- Experience in problem solving and fault finding
- Experience in working with bores, water mains and pumps.
- Experience working in outdoor environments.
- Demonstrated experience within a similar role or industry.
- Understandings of WHS legislative requirements within the workplace.
- Ability to undertake and follow instructions as directed.
- Sound time management and priority setting skills
- High standard of communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Current National Police Clearance and willing to obtain.
Desirable Criteria
- Qualification in Irrigation or Irrigation Management.
- Previous experience within Local Government.
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management accreditation.
- First Aid certification (Provide First Aid).
- Previous experience working with water sensitive urban designs.
- MR / HR Truck licence.

We offer a competitive salary package of $81,877.20 - $87,726.09 per annum (dependent on experience), plus 12% superannuation and commuter use of a Shire vehicle-bringing the total remuneration up to $105,000 per annum.
