About the Role
Our Planning Teams provide planning and scheduling and logistics support expertise for the delivery of maintenance and operational tasks on the water, recycled water, wastewater, and stormwater networks to achieve customer, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
This role is responsible for activity planning and scheduling of maintenance and operations activities works with relevant teams. The role will enhance Sydney Water’s corporate reputation and build trust with our customers, regulators and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee delivery of the maintenance work program with the Customer Hub/Area, ensuring customer, environmental and business outcomes are met.
- Lead planning and scheduling activities, providing best‑practice resource planning and minimising customer impact from daily maintenance works.
- Drive customer feedback loops across Networks teams and lead process improvements to enhance the customer experience.
- Coordinate proactive customer communications related to maintenance activities and water supply interruptions.
- Provide 24/7 response capability for network faults and liaise with external authorities, contractors and regulators (including EPA, NSW Health and local councils) to enable timely repairs.
About you
Ideally you will have tertiary qualification in engineering, or 6-10 years’ experience in utility network operations and maintenance/renewal, or experience deemed equivalent.
- Proven ability to manage complex relationships with customers, regulators and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring and developing teams and contributing effectively within a broader management group.
- Experience leading emergency and incident management, including 24/7 availability where required, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practice, with broad understanding of water industry trends and water, wastewater and recycled water systems maintenance.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and with impact.
