As Human Resources Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing quality HR advice/services to our organisation to ensure a positive impact on our people and business.

Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is the peak body for councils and related organisations in NSW. LGNSW advocates on behalf of its members and their communities on policy to decision makers at state and federal levels. We also provide a comprehensive range of services including workplace relations representation, management services, training, and legal support.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager Corporate Services, the HR Coordinator plays an important role in providing administrative and coordination support across a range of human resources activities.
The role involves:
- Supporting the administration of the employee lifecycle, including maintaining HR records, preparing correspondence and reports, assisting with onboarding, probation processes, resignations and exit interviews.
- Coordinating the end-to-end recruitment process such as preparing position descriptions and job advertisements, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks and supporting the preparation of employment contracts.
- Providing administrative and coordination support for performance and remuneration review processes and assisting managers and employees with HR-related queries in line with policies and legislative requirements.
- Contributing to people and culture initiatives and HR projects, including policy reviews, wellbeing and cultural activities, intranet content and workforce reporting for senior stakeholders.

About you
You are an organised and proactive individual with a strong interest in Human Resources. You can manage competing priorities, communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders and approach challenges with a practical, solutions-focused mindset. With a high level of attention to detail and professionalism, you are eager to learn and build your knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in a Business or Human Resource Management discipline.
- Entry-level experience gained in a HR / administrative environment.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the capability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Sound oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve, including being able to identify and address issues as they arise.
- Capacity to gather, interpret and analyse information and clearly present ideas and technical information.
- Knowledge of or an ability to acquire knowledge of relevant HR / employment legislation.
