As Learning and Development Consultant you will help shape, promote and support the delivery of learning programs that build capability across councils.

About the role
As the L&D Consultant, you will work 2 days per week, reporting to the Manager Learning. This role is an 18-month fixed-term contract opportunity and involves:
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with council stakeholders to understand learning needs and priorities
- Preparing tailored training proposals that translate identified needs into practical fit-for-purpose learning solutions
- Support the design and delivery of learning programs and events, ensuring all logistical and administrative elements are effectively managed
- Identifying and progressing opportunities to enhance and expand the learning program offerings
- Maintaining a strong network of facilitators and subject matter experts, and support the effective engagement of external consultants to deliver quality programs

About you
You are an experienced L&D professional who enjoys working across program design, stakeholder engagement and delivery. You build strong relationships, communicate with confidence and are comfortable promoting learning solutions to a diverse audience. You are organised, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute positively within a small, collaborative team environment.
Selection criteria
- Extensive experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of adult education and training programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse environment
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to promote the value and benefits of training services to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work flexibly and collegially as a member of a small and productive team and across the Events and Learning Directorate when required
- Understanding of and/or experience of working in the Local Government environment is desirable.
