The role
Step into a unique permanent full-time opportunity as the Signature Events Project Lead, where you will take the lead in delivering Council’s iconic month-long Lakemba Nights during Ramadan event.
Reporting to the City Events and Activations Team Leader, you will drive the planning, coordination and delivery of one of the region’s most celebrated community events, while helping bring vibrant experiences and activations to life across the City Events and Activations Team.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Lakemba Nights during Ramadan.
- Ensure the event aligns with Council strategies, community expectations and industry best practice.
- Drive the continued growth, innovation and success of the event.
- Develop event project plans, risk strategies and oversee procurement processes.
- Manage event budgets, sponsorships, grants and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate stallholder recruitment, onboarding and administration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community, government and business stakeholders.
- Support the rostering and coordination of staff, volunteers and contractors.
- Work collaboratively across Council to promote and deliver high-quality events and activations.
- Provide support across the City Business and Engagement Unit as required.
- Flexibility to work after hours and weekends to support event delivery.

You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience (minimum 3 years).
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence with access to reliable transport.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven negotiation and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of major events.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, multi-project environment.
- Proven capability in budget preparation, management and monitoring.
The salary for this position is $93,583 (Grade G, Step 1) + 12% super.
