John Holland is at the forefront of Australia's infrastructure sector, and we are actively seeking an astute and diligent RIW Coordinator to provide pivotal support within the Safety Team for the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project. This monumental project is reshaping Australia's freight network by improving connectivity and logistics.
In the role of RIW Coordinator, you will ensure the effective management of the Rail Industry Worker (RIW) programme, playing a crucial part in maintaining compliance and enhancing the safety of our workforce. Your contributions will be essential in upholding our project's integrity and fostering the success of a nationally significant infrastructure development.

Project Description

Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
The role is primarily based out of our main office in Docklands. However, it also will involve travel to various construction sites to ensure that project deliverables are achieved.

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

Oversee the Rail Industry Worker (RIW) programme for all Subcontractor personnel on-site, ensuring compliance with national rail safety standards.
Manage the administration of subcontractor RIW compliance as part of the onboarding process for subcontractors prior to mobilisation.
Maintain accurate records of training, competencies, and medicals for all rail workers, aligning with project specifications.
Liaise with project teams and integrate RIW requirements with other site activities, such as civil, track, and electrical works.
Engage with stakeholders, including training providers, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to facilitate the smooth operation of the RIW programme.
Uphold John Holland’s commitment to safety and quality, adhering to company policies and relevant industry regulations.
Monitor and report on compliance with the RIW programme, ensuring all rail workers are qualified and fit for duty.
Support the development of a safety-focused culture among the workforce, emphasising teamwork, innovation, and technical proficiency.

To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;

Experience in coordinating or administering RIW programmes is essential for this role.
Robust organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritise tasks.
Proficiency in project management software and general IT skills, with a meticulous approach to record-keeping and reporting.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the talent to nurture relationships and manage expectations of various stakeholders.
A steadfast dedication to health, safety, and environmental standards in the workplace. • An aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making, with the competence to manage administrative responsibilities efficiently.
Adaptability to the changing landscape of project work and a readiness to embrace the distinctive challenges presented by the rail environment.
Possession of a current driver's licence and a willingness to work in various locations as necessitated by the project.
