About the role
Reporting to the HSSE Management Systems Leader, the primary objective of this role is to assist in the operational implementation of management system documentation.
The position will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful transition of EnergyAustralia’s HSSE management system from a system designed to support large coal and gas operating sites, to one that is designed to support gas operations and small base load and firming plants such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Pumped Hydro plants.
We are seeking a team player who values health and safety improvement while effectively accomplishing tasks and influencing change using well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
This is a Victorian based role – we are considering applicants based either in the greater Melbourne or Latrobe Valley regions.
Duties and accountabilities
- Participate in the creation, revision and maintenance of relevant documentation and processes including policies, standards, procedures, risk assessments, incident investigations, communications, educational materials and the EA2025 HSSE Strategy
- Conduct and participate in HSSE mgt systems safety consultation activities, audits and assessments, including compiling associated reports
- Track, report, and oversee the implementation of HSSE mgt systems audit and assessment recommendations, improvements, and corrective actions
- Interface and collaborate with HSSE stakeholders to drive management system improvements and foster a positive safety culture
- Coaching line managers in all health and safety matters
Qualifications, skills, and experience required
- Natural communicator who quickly builds strong relationships without compromising the essential requirements of their role
- Strategic thinking and ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organisation
- Organised and methodical approach to system development
- Experience in management system auditing and in-field verification processes
- Ability to embed change working both strategically and hands-on across a similar sized company
- Tertiary qualifications in safety, environment, risk, or related discipline – diploma level qualification at minimum
- Ability to work within change as an enabler to continuously improve people, systems, and performance
