About the Role
As a Financial Accounting Analyst, you’ll be at the center of our financial operations—leading core accounting processes, upholding compliance with key standards, and ensuring strong internal controls. Your expertise will help shape critical business decisions through clear, insightful financial analysis. This position requires a solid foundation in financial accounting, exceptional analytical thinking, and a knack for supporting small and specialised business units, ideally with experience in a dynamic environment like EnergyAustralia.
- Act as a financial business partner to small and specialised business units
- Provide financial insights and support to drive business performance.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and implement financial strategies
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly financial/management reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and commentary to support management decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and control activities.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Treasury, Tax, and Operations, to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Provide financial insights and support to business units to drive performance.
How can you support the Clean Energy Transition
To be successful in this position, experience of the following will be required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in financial accounting or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the energy industry preferred
