About the role
Council is seeking a qualified and motivated Development Engineer to join our high-performing Development Assessment Services team.
This is your opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of our vibrant, leafy municipality through expert engineering advice and innovative problem-solving.
Reporting to the Team Leader Development Engineer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing and preparing recommendations for development and subdivision applications
- Preparing technical reports on engineering matters related to applications and construction certificates
- Reviewing and monitoring stormwater, traffic, subdivision and civil works
- Providing advice and guidance on Development Control Plans
- Supporting Council in Land and Environment Court hearings, including expert witness reporting
- Providing high quality technical advice to the public
- Ensuring compliance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Council policies, and best-practice principles
Qualifications, Skills & experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with development engineering matters
- Sound knowledge of development assessment processes including stormwater management, traffic and civil/subdivision works
- Understanding of local government and environmental legislation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- A current Class C driver’s licence
