About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the timely and accurate issue of invoices and statements to support efficient collections. You will assist with debt recovery and deliver a reliable, confidential service tailored to the needs of Council. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to maintain positive relationships and uphold service standards in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Reporting directly to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Issue Accounts Receivable invoices and statements for debtors' accounts.
- Create, review, and maintain debtor accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Distribute invoices, debtor statements and reports, and reconciliations internally as required. Following up with investigation and/or guidance where appropriate.
- Assist in the debt recovery collection process in accordance with the Debt Recovery policy to facilitate timely payment.
- Participate in the delivery of coaching to build the awareness and skill of key staff across Council in relation to debt management best practice and the best use of supporting systems.
- Respond to written, telephone, and counter enquiries regarding debtor accounts and debt recovery issues.
- Investigate credit balances on debtor accounts and where appropriate facilitate refunds in a timely manner.

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Certificate III in Office/Business Administration or substantial equivalent experience in Finance/accounts receivable functions of a large organisation.
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
