About the roleThe Chief Operations Office Division designs and constructs Councils buildings, infrastructure, parks, streetscapes and public domain program, with an annual works program in excess of $100m.
The Design Studio team is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager (Architecture) to join its team working to deliver Councils community facility and building projects program.
In this Senior role you will be focused on design excellence and responsible for:
managing the design on the City of Sydney’s more complex community and commercial building projectsdeveloping strategies, programs and service delivery to support the design team programdeveloping training and providing guidance to other design managers within the studioleading collaboration in multi-disciplinary and broad stakeholder groups to resolve problems, inspire considered outcomes and establish design excellence, sustainability and value for money.
We're looking for someone with:
degree qualifications in Architecture with extensive experience in building design across all project phasesproven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, setting and achieving priorities within time and cost parametersdemonstrated experience in contract management, including brief development, procurement, monitoring, evaluation and managing variationa strong track record in delivering high-quality design outcomes, with a focus on sustainability and innovationstrong conceptual reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire design excellencehigh-level communication, negotiation, advocacy and presentation skills.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
