The role

We’re looking for a Graduate Technical Support Officer to play a key role in supporting and optimising the software applications that keep our Council running. In this dynamic role, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of systems, develop your technical skills, and collaborate with a supportive team to deliver real impact for our staff and community.
This is a Temporary Full Time position until January 2028.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Provide second-level support, resolve application issues, and maintain accurate support records.
- Collaborate with teams and vendors to resolve issues, implement updates, and improve applications.
- Document system configurations, processes, and prepare user guides.
- Manage software releases, testing, and quality assurance.
- Administer and monitor applications daily, ensuring stability and performance.
- Understand business and legislative requirements to deliver compliant support.
- Contribute to process improvements, user experience, and team effectiveness.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
- Perform other duties aligned with skills and training.

You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Understanding of business applications and their role in supporting services.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles and data protection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team, with good time management.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Desirable (but not essential): Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, cloud platforms, programming/scripting (Python, JavaScript, SQL, PowerShell), web application design, database systems, integration solutions, and AI technologies.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step 1) + 12% Super.
Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
