Find purpose and impact
The Economic Development Partner plays a vital role in delivering initiatives that make an impact in supporting the region’s economic growth. This includes engaging with local businesses, coordinating development programs, promoting workforce and industry development, and supporting strategic planning. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders, data-driven decision-making, and advocacy for investment opportunities that align with Council’s strategic objectives.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Delivering and coordinating economic development programs such as workforce initiatives, business support, and CBD vibrancy campaigns.
- Engaging with local businesses and stakeholders to understand challenges, foster partnerships, and promote Council services.
- Utilising research and data to inform strategies, prepare reports, and support grant applications and feasibility studies.
- Supporting industry development projects, including infrastructure planning and initiatives to attract and retain skilled professionals.
- Assisting the Economic Development Team Leader with operational, administrative, and reporting tasks to ensure effective program delivery.
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Diploma qualifications in Economics, Business, Training, Social Sciences, Marketing or related discipline; or
relevant qualifications with extensive experience within this field.
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality services through an economic development, training services,
business development or relevant stakeholder engagement role.
- Ability to manage programs and activities focused on achieving agreed outcomes. Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting and facilitating training and development opportunities, including
workforce development, business capacity building and supply chain strengthening activities.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate a broad range of information including analysing statistics
and providing summary reports.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, cooperative and productive relationships with staff, key
stakeholders and community.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $88,171 to $102,468.
