Plant Mechanic
- Permanent full-time, 38 hours per week with a nine-day fortnight roster
- Salary range from $83,727.81 - $90,629.92 PA + 12% Super
- Based at Council’s Central Services Workshop at Minto

About the role
As a Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing Council’s fleet of construction plant, equipment, motor vehicles, and trucks in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations. You will attend to emergency breakdowns both in the workshop and in the field, assist with the daily workload, and provide courteous and professional customer service to all workshop stakeholders. You will also contribute to the training and development of apprentice employees and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with WHS requirements and Council’s policies and procedures.
What we are looking for
- Current Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate (Motor Mechanic)
- Current MR Driver’s Licence (HR preferred)
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of construction and mowing plant, equipment, trucks, trailers, and both light and heavy vehicles
- Ability to manage a varied workload and adapt to changing priorities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a dynamic team environment
- Experience maintaining a large fleet to a high standard, minimising downtime
- Working knowledge of computers and smart technology
