About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will join a proactive, collaborative and hardworking team who welcome new ideas for continuous improvements. By providing accurate and insightful financial information and advice, you will support key stakeholders within the organisation to build financial acumen, improve financial performance in the areas of budget development, forecasting and reporting, review business processes and drive stakeholder engagement. You will assist with changes to system configurations as well as the testing of enhancements and new software releases. You will design and develop data models and management reports using tools including ETL and XLOne that will enable analysis and monitoring of financial performance as well as assist in planning. You will be responsible for accounting and reporting Council's projects and deliverables.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
• Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive job-related experience.
• Knowledge and experience in applying accounting procedures and legislation
• Knowledge and experience in supporting, implementing and management of financial management information systems. Experience with Technology One, Pathway and Conquest would be an advantage.
• Experience in producing complex and meaningful financial and management reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data and model scenarios.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing excellent customer service and a highly developed understanding of customer service principles.
