JOB DESCRIPTION:
Council is seeking two enthusiastic and committed individuals to undertake a four-year Engineering Apprenticeship. This role provides the opportunity to complete the
MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade while gaining practical experience in Circular Economy operations working with the industry leaders.
As an apprentice engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Enrol in and successfully complete all required training and assessments for the MEM31119 Certificate III in Engineering – Composites Trade. Progress through apprenticeship milestones within expected time-frames.·
- Support Circular Economy operations, including.
- Green Ceramics production
- Operation of relevant plant and equipment
- Mattress shredding.
- Warehouse operations.
- Mechanical workshop activities·
- Hot works, cold works and metal works·
- Making safe damaged infrastructure and surfaces·
- Repair of Council warehouse machinery and equipment if trained to do so.
- Comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and all Council procedures.
- Participate in all mandatory Council training, evaluations, and workplace learning activities.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU
- A genuine interest in the circular economy and hands-on experience or aptitude for practical work in mechanical or workshop settings.·
- Completion of Year 10.·
- Knowledge and/or experience in mechanical workshop/ lab environments and/or boiler making.
- Demonstrated ability to interact confidently and communicate clearly with people.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organise work effectively.
- Ability to take direction and implement feedback on performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.·
- Strong focus on Work Health and Safety.
- Class C Drivers Licence (provisional acceptable).
- Genuine willingness to learn and develop new skills.
