Temporary Full Time - 36 hours, 5 days per week (up to 4 years or completion of qualification)
Salary: ($25,160.41 to $49,469.96 T2 to T6)

JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is offered as an apprenticeship and is open to continuing apprentices progressing through or near completion of their 2
nd year of the Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanics. This is the ideal opportunity for a continuing apprentice to broaden their experience. The successful candidate will work within a small, experienced team to service and repair the wide range of vehicles and mobile equipment in Council’s fleet.
This apprenticeship is a full-time position within our Plant, Fleet, and Mechanical Services team. The successful candidate will work towards the completion of the Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanics.
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:
- Completion of Year 10.
- Willing to enrol and complete apprenticeship in Automotive Mechanic.
- Class C driver’s licence (or Provisional licence).
- Willing to obtain HR Drivers licence.
- An interest in, and aptitude for, analysing, diagnosing and solving mechanical problems especially with diesel heavy earthmoving machinery.
- Must be able to complete basic maths, logic and English skills tests.
- Ability to set priorities and organise work.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to take direction and implement feedback on performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
