Title: Engineer - Traffic, Temporary - Full-time Role, (6 Months + ) 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $111,468.90 to $129,545.15 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Transport and Civil Infrastructure:
Transport and Civil Infrastructure is responsible for the provision, management and maintenance of urban infrastructure and the delivery of transport, traffic and urban infrastructure services. Transport and Civil Infrastructure has both internal and external clients and provides service across a range of functional areas including:
• Traffic and Transport Network Management
• Transport and Civil Infrastructure Asset Management
• Parking Management
• Construction and Maintenance of Civil Infrastructure
• Engineering and Delivery of Capital Works
• Plant, Fleet and Stores Management
• Business Operations

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include:
1) Apply specialist technical skills and knowledge to provide advice on a broad range of traffic and transport matters to support a well-functioning transport network in line with the strategic directions identified in Council’s Move – Northern Beaches Transport Strategy 2038.
2) Investigate and respond to community enquiries in a thoughtful and transparent way that is appropriate for the intended receiver, to accurately inform, educate and ensure the customer feels heard.
3) Provide traffic engineering advice on development applications referred to the team to ensure consistency of development approvals with Council’s development control plan(s), State Planning legislation, relevant Australian Standards and Council’s strategic transport directions.
About you:
We’re looking for an adaptable, articulate and customer focussed traffic engineer to join Council’s Transport Network team on a temporary basis. The role will suit an experienced traffic engineer familiar with working in the local government context. The role is initially for a 6 month period which may then be subject to extension while the incumbent is on parental leave. You’ll bring a positive and collaborative approach to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
