1 Temporary Full Time - 36 hours, 4 days per week (3-4 years) Salary: $ 31,408 to 49,469 (T2 to T5) Location: Depot
JOB DESCRIPTION
This apprenticeship is a full-time position within our Parks and Open space Services team. The successful candidate will work towards the completion of their Certificate III in Parks and Gardens. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience developing practical skill in the maintenance and care for councils parks, open space gardens and public trees. This role is offered as an apprenticeship and is open to new starters and continuing apprentices in 1st or 2nd year of the same qualification.
This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only. Under the provisions of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), Liverpool City Council has been granted an exemption from sections 8 and 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) for this role.
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:
- Completion of Year 10.
- Willing to enrol and complete apprenticeship in Horticultural Parks and Gardens
- Class C driver’s licence (or Provisional licence)
- Willing to obtain MR license.
- A genuine interest in the outdoors, horticulture, gardening and landscape maintenance.
- Knowledge of horticultural practices.
- Ability to set priorities and organise work.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to take direction and implement feedback on performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn.
