Development - Administration Officer

Mid-Western Regional Council are looking for a Development Administration Officer to assist the
Planning and Development Department to fulfil administration duties necessary
to ensure efficient and effective operations. The role requires an outstanding
level of customer service and will include addressing customer enquiries on
behalf of the Planning and Development Department. This position is full-time, with the possibility of job share options.
Tasks will include:
- Providing accurate information to customers over the telephone and at the front counter in relation to
Planning and Development enquiries
- Accurate lodgement of planning applications in accordance with Council’s procedures
- Accurate preparation of correspondence, development consents, compliance, construction and
building certificates in accordance with Council’s procedures
- Accurate electronic and physical filing, and data entry into the relevant records management system
- To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the
Workplace Environment Statement
To be successful in this role you will have:
- School Certificate or equivalent
- Three-years experience in a similar position either within Local Government or a similar organisation
including experience in the field of customer service
- Comprehensive written and oral communication skills
- Sound planning and organisational skills
- High level of literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to keep written and electronic records accurately
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant
WHS training
The salary range being offered for the position of Development Administration Officer is $2,498-$2,813 per fortnight (dependent on skills, qualifications
and experience) plus superannuation, equating to an annual salary range of $64,963-$73,138, a 19 day month and
long service leave after 5 years.
