The Bushcare Program is responsible for the co-ordination of up to 65 volunteer Bushcare and Landcare groups, participating in Council’s Bushcare Program. Each officer will take primary responsibility for the support of a portion of the groups. They will also contribute to the management of the Bushcare Program by providing ongoing assistance and support for volunteer Bushcare groups in accordance with Council’s Bushcare procedures, plans and policies.
We’re seeking someone with:
• TAFE Conservation & Land Management Certificate III (Natural Areas Restoration) or equivalent;
• AQF3 Chemical Users Certificate;
• Current Class C Driver Licence; First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check clearance;
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in bushland regeneration, including leadership responsibilities
• Experience delivering training in bush regeneration techniques and strategies
• Strong community development skills, especially facilitating community groups working toward environmental outcomes
• Excellent communication and positive influence skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse people
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, within Council’s community engagement framework
Hours of work are:
WEEK 1
Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Saturday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
WEEK2
Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Saturday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
WEEK 3
Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
WEEK 4
Monday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Sunday 8:30am - 4:30pm (7.5hrs with 30 mins meal break)
Please note that Week 1 commences on the 1st day of each month, regardless of which day of the week it falls.
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $65,523 (pro-rata) gross per annum
+ 12% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
