Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join it’s building safety team. The team is responsible for managing Council’s building fire safety, footpath awning and swimming pool safety programs.
This role would suit someone with a relevant qualification or experience and a passion for improving community safety standards within the built environment. You also require skills and knowledge across a range of functional areas to enable the progression of proactive and reactive matters under each of the programs.
Council’s Compliance and Enforcement Policy will guide you in the application of various legislation administered by Council including but not limited to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act and Swimming Pools Act.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants will require:
- Degree qualification, advanced diploma or diploma in building surveying or a related disciple, or equivalent demonstrated competencies gained through on-the job learning.
- Current NSW Class C Drivers License or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the implementation of the swimming pools act, regulation and associated standards.
- Ability to work from the Blue Mountains local government area for the majority of the work week. Some flexibility options may be available.
- The ability to balance field work, office work, relationship management and reporting.
A lease back vehicle is available with this position. It is not a condition of employment.
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $96,443 gross per annum
+ 12% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
