Depot Operations Officer (Ref: 1226)
About the position:
As a Depot Operations Officer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our depot running smoothly, working closely with the Depot Supervisor to support day to day operations. This hands-on position combines administrative and operational responsibilities, including stock control, procurement, processing of goods, operating equipment, maintaining yard standards, and completing routine security checks.
You’ll also collaborate daily with City employees across multiple departments, helping to ensure depot operations are safe, efficient, and consistently delivered to meet the required service level.
To support work life balance, this role is offered as a 9‑day fortnight, with every second Friday off, giving you extra time to recharge, explore or focus on what matters most to you.
Key accountabilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Depot Supervisor and undertake all depot operations tasks including receiving goods, dispatching stock items and maintaining the Depot(s) in a clean and safe condition.
- Undertake general depot stores office administration activities such as but not limited to raising requisitions, evaluating minor quotes and tenders as required, general email correspondence and policy/process reviews in collaboration with Depot Supervisor.
- Carry out Geraldton Depot maintenance and general housekeeping, according to schedule and as required including but not limited to weed control, general litter pickup, cleaning and tidying as required, sweeping and raking.
- Operate plant and equipment (including front end loaders, forklifts or Skid Steer) to load or unload trucks for operations staff, contractors or suppliers.

Position requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally hold a current HR class driver’s license and a valid Forklift ticket, together with demonstrated experience in supply chain operations, warehousing or the building industry. You’ll bring a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to operate minor plant, supporting the efficient and safe depot operations.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary ranging from $82,422 per annum to $86,882 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
