What will you do? / How will you help?
In This Role, You Will
- Lead, coach and support dental assistants and reception staff to deliver high-quality patient care
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the dental practice, including rostering, invoicing and stock management
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, clinical protocols and organisational policies
- Conduct audits, spot checks and performance reviews, identifying training and development needs
- Support onboarding and ongoing development of new and existing team members
- Manage and respond to patient enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally
- Partner closely with the Senior Dental Manager and Clinical Director as well as work alongside the Health Centre Manager to ensure smooth centre operations
- Maintain accurate records, financial reporting and operational documentation
What do you need? /What are we looking for?
Essential
- Previous leadership experience in a dental or healthcare setting (e.g. Practice Manager, Head Dental Assistant, Clinical Coordinator)
- Strong people management, communication and customer service skills
- Proven ability to lead in a coaching and supportive manner
- Solid understanding of clinical compliance, infection control and audit processes
- Confidence managing difficult conversations and patient complaints
- Demonstrated experience as a hands-on Dental Assistant, comfortable working clinically alongside the team
- Highly detail-oriented, with a strong focus on audits, compliance, and accuracy
- This role is only open to candidates with Australian citizenship or permanent residency. Visa sponsorship is not available
Desirable:
- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or related qualification
- Experience with Oasis
- Exposure to working within a health fund or multi-disciplinary health centre
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership environment
