The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step 1) plus 12% super.

The role
As the Leading Hand – Night Shift, you’ll support the Team Leader City Clean in delivering street and town centre cleaning operations during night shift.
You’ll provide on-the-ground support to help coordinate daily tasks, guide team members, maintain service standards and ensure scheduled work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with organising and assigning daily tasks for the night shift team
- Supporting team members to understand their roles, responsibilities and daily priorities
- Working hands-on in city presentation and cleansing activities
- Monitoring quality of work and helping maintain cleaning standards
- Supporting training, inductions and on-the-job development
- Documenting daily activities, incidents and operational issues
- Reporting maintenance issues identified across the city
- Promoting a positive, safe and collaborative team culture
About you
You’re reliable, safety-focused and lead by example. You enjoy working in a hands-on operational environment, can stay calm under pressure and are confident supporting others to deliver quality outcomes.
You’ll need:
- A Class HR Driver’s Licence
- Strong coordination skills
- Experience in monitoring or supporting service delivery standards
- Knowledge of plant, equipment and chemicals used in cleaning or weed management
- Good time management skills
- Confidence using technology to gather data and report on performance
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleaning standards
- Previous experience in a leading hand or senior operational role, highly regarded
