About the role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Officer to join our City Infrastructure team on a temporary contract. In this role, you will lead and support environmental compliance across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with environmental legislation and Council standards.
You will partner closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing expert advice, undertaking environmental assessments, securing approvals, and contributing to sustainable project delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering environmentally responsible outcomes for our community while contributing to continuous improvement across the organisation.

About you
You bring strong experience in environmental assessment and a solid understanding of relevant legislation, ideally within infrastructure or local government. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science (or related discipline), along with a White Card and current Class C Driver’s Licence, and have experience managing environmental and cultural heritage matters. You are a confident communicator who can engage stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality environmental outcomes across project lifecycles.
