About the role
You will be responsible for driving innovation and lead a dynamic team in managing Sydney Water's Configuration Management Database (CMDB). We are looking for a strategic leader to ensure our CMDB aligns with organizational goals and supports the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) program.
In this pivotal role, you will:
Lead and Inspire: Guide the CMDB's direction, ensuring it fosters innovation and meets Sydney Water's objectives.
Manage a Talented Team: Oversee and coordinate the Configuration Management team, ensuring seamless operations.
Optimize Processes and Technology: Govern and enhance the processes and technology supporting the CMDB.
Support ESM Program: Facilitate the transition to a new CMDB, ensuring data integrity and operational continuity.
Drive Data Migration: Lead the migration of data from legacy systems to the new CMDB, collaborating with relevant teams and our Implementation Services Partner (ISP).
Develop Strategy and Policy: Define and implement a configuration management strategy, policy, and approach in line with ITIL best practices.
Allocate Tasks Effectively: Oversee task allocations within the Configuration Management team.
Architect Change: Design and implement changes to configuration management tools and processes to meet evolving business needs.
In this role, you will:
Inspire and Lead: Provide visionary leadership to the configuration management team, driving continuous improvement and strategic alignment.
Showcase Expertise: Design a robust and mature Configuration Management policy aligned with our strategic outcomes, leveraging your extensive experience.
Proactive Planning: Strategically plan the implementation of the new CMDB, collaborating with the ESM program implementation partner and relevant teams to validate outcomes.
Operational Excellence: Design and document operating procedures for service configuration management.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to define data cleansing and enrichment processes.
Data Governance: Establish data governance and ownership to ensure accountability.
ETL Processes: Develop and implement ETL processes, including Discovery.
About the candidate
Degree qualified in information technology, business, computer science or similar and/or equivalent industry experience, with ITIL Foundation certification ideal.
Demonstrated experience in overseeing the implementation and migration to a new CMDB Working knowledge of critical infrastructure networks
Required:
Extensive experience in Configuration Management
Strong understanding of ITSM and Service Configuration Management best practices.
Familiarity with: Change Management, Asset Management, Incident Management
