About Us

The Role
We are in search of a high caliber Sustainability Solutions Manager to join the team based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. In this key leadership role you will drive our sustainability agenda forward by developing and implementing strategic, practicable and scalable emissions reductions strategy across all emissions scopes.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering a robust emissions reduction strategy and roadmap, supporting the implementation of initiatives such as electric vehicle adoption, renewable fuels, renewable energy procurement, waste management, supplier engagement and behaviour-based change. A key part of the role will involve partnering with customers to co-develop tailored sustainability solutions that align with their goals and supply chain expectations. You’ll work closely with commercial and operational teams to embed sustainability into our service offerings and help customers decarbonize their logistics footprint.
This role sits on the Enterprise Services leadership team (covering Property, Fleet and Procurement), ensuring strategic alignment with Toll Group Sustainability strategy.
This role has two direct reports and will work closely with cross-functional teams across Sustainability, Fleet, Property, Procurement, and divisional operations to support the delivery of their respective sustainability goals.
As the Sustainability Solutions Manager., you will:
- Develop and implement emissions reduction strategies across Scope 1, 2 and 3, aligned with Toll’s sustainability goals and commitments.
- Collaborate closely with Fleet, Property, and Procurement teams to ensure integrated planning and execution of sustainability initiatives.
- Lead practical emissions reduction efforts – from EV and renewable fuel deployment to renewable energy procurement and behavioural change programs (e.g., greener driver training, energy efficiency).
- Co-develop customer sustainability solutions, partnering with clients to support their decarbonisation goals and enhance shared environmental outcomes.
- Drive performance management and reporting, including scenario modelling, initiative tracking, and preparation of reports for leadership and external auditors.
- Provide sustainability expertise and build internal capacity, educating and influencing staff, guiding investment decisions, and implementing carbon pricing mechanisms.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement by staying informed on industry trends and applying new solutions to enhance sustainability outcomes.
- Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of sustainability and ensuring effective delivery of initiatives.
- Engage key internal and external contribute to the development of sustainability policies and maintain strong partnerships to support Toll’s long-term objectives.

Qualification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, Energy, Mechanical, automation, logistics or related field
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of sustainability leadership experience, ideally in the transport and logistics sector.
- Proven ability to deliver emissions reductions across all scopes, aligned with recognised frameworks such as SBTi, through practical, collaborative, and cost-effective solutions.
- Strong strategic and systems-thinking mindset, able to guide complex decarbonisation strategies and develop robust, costed emissions reduction plans.
- Technical proficiency in ESG reporting standards, sustainability management plans, and rating tools, with a solid track record of implementing measurable initiatives.
- Clear, confident, and empathetic communication skills—able to translate complex sustainability data into insights for a variety of audiences, including executives, customers, and operational teams.
- Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to policy development, and influencing decision-making across business units.
- Resilient and adaptable, you thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple priorities while staying customer-focused and results-driven.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build capability, mentor teams, and foster a high-performance culture aligned with sustainability values.
