opportunities for a casual Parks & Gardens Attendant.
What we are looking for
We are seeking four motivated people to maintain and preserve Council’s parks and gardens (including but not limited to parks, reserves, cemeteries, recreational facilities and Council’s streetscape) in accordance with Council’s policies, plans and weekly works programs.
These roles are casual positions - 3 based in Mudgee (and also being utilised in Gulgong as needed) and 1 at Rylstone/Kandos.
The salary range being offered for the position of Parks and Gardens Attendant is $35.43-$39.77 gross per hour (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience) plus allowance and superannuation.

Key Accountabilities
- To achieve the parks and gardens weekly works program in line
with Council’s expectations
- Ability to operate, and undertake maintenance on, plant, power tools
and equipment in accordance with Council’s maintenance schedules
- To ensure that the automatic irrigation systems are functioning
correctly and undertaking repairs in accordance with manufacturers
specifications
- To ensure all street and town garden maintenance is undertaken
in accordance with Council policy whilst having a basic knowledge of the
plants, shrubs, trees, and plantings appropriate for the geographical region
- To ensure that the maintenance and repair of burial activities
within Council’s cemeteries is completed according to industry standard
- Ability to correctly prune a variety of trees and shrubs
- Basic knowledge of turf and grounds maintenance
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- To be available to undertake out of hours (on call) duties
- Sound ability to keep work records accurately
- To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement
- Undertake risk assessments and site inductions for tasks as required
To be successful in this role you will have
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Basic communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical labouring tasks and complete efficiently to desired
- Demonstrated ability to work to agreed targets in a team
environment
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training
